Health vs Obesity
Excessive weight results in a higher risk of developing diseases.
These are called co-morbidities when referenced to diseases, associated with obesity.
They directly or indirectly expose the obese patients to risks of complications, which may reduce their life expectancy.
Examples of co-morbidities (associated diseases):
- Cardiovascular disease - Including heart attack, Dyslipidemia , Hypertension, Stroke , etc.
- Diabetes
- Arthrosis
- Disc herniation
- Breathing difficulties
- Obstructive Sleep apnoea
- Increased risk of cancer
- Destabilisation of menstrual cycle
- Depression
